Welcome to The Belfry CE VA Primary School in Overstrand, on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. We are a small school with five classes and 139 pupils. The Belfry is a Church of England school with a Christian mission to educate, serving the children of Overstrand and the surrounding areas. The original school foundation dates back to 1830 and our current building was completed in 2006. It sits on extensive grounds behind the local community hub of the Belfry Centre, which used to be the village school.
We are part of the North Star Federation, sharing a leadership team and governance with Worstead CE VA Primary School (nearby in rural North Norfolk), as well as many working practices. Both schools are part of the Diocese of Norwich's family and we have a shared Christian vision of hope - building a brighter future. The Belfry has its own distinct identity grounded in their local area and long history. It also benefits from being a full primary phase school meaning your child stays with us from the age of 4 right through to 11.
Each morning a school leader is on the gate to greet the children. The children, the staff and the governors, supported by The Friends of The Belfry (our parents association) all work very hard to try and make the school the best that it can be. We are very excited to have just introduced a full Forest School provision this year which we have very high hopes for!
Hopefully the website will give you a flavour of the school – if there is anything else that you would like to know then please do not hesitate to contact us.
With kind regards,
Nick Read
