Friendship

Friendship is our Christian Value chosen by the children of the Belfry.

 

The Biblical story of Zacchaeus helps us understand how acts of friendship can have great effects. Through being shown an act of friendship, Zaccheus changed his ways. 

 

 

We use the story of the friendship between Ella Fitzgerald and Marilyn Monroe to help us understand that by being friendly we can make friends.

 

Ella Fitzgerald could not get to perform at the Mocambo club because she did not look how the owners of the club thought singers should look. However Marilyn Monroe acted in a friendly manner, and offered to sit at the front of Ella's shows, so bringing in the press. This persuaded the Mocambo club to book Ella Fitzgerald, and that friendly act of Marilyn led these two very different people to become good friends.
